Job Title: Kitchen Manager
Compensation: $17.00 to $24.85/ hr (based on experience)
Employment Type: Minimum 25 hrs a week, to 40 hrs in peak season
Direct Reports: 3–10 Seasonal Kitchen Staff

Responsibilities

Practical

  • Weekly preparation of goods, including ice cream, pastries, cakes, and new products.

  • Ensure all products meet Fête’s recipes and standards.

  • Develop daily task lists for kitchen staff to streamline operations.

  • Manage menu turnover and meet deadlines for new product launches.

  • Oversee/ implement the timely production of wholesale and catering orders.

  • Maintain quality control to ensure consistent standards for all products.

Menu Development

  • Create and implement seasonal menu items that align with Fête’s brand and customer expectations.

Leadership

  • Supervise a team of 6–10 seasonal staff.

  • Recruit, hire, and onboard all kitchen staff (e.g., spinners, bakers, dish staff).

  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development for the kitchen team.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and growth-oriented work environment.

  • Ensure all team members adhere to quality and health code standards.

Administrative/Other

  • Work towards achieving team goals, including food and labor cost targets.

  • Conduct weekly inventory and place orders for food supplies.

  • Control food inventory to align with company standards.

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure adherence to sanitation guidelines.

  • Create and manage staff schedules for weekly shifts.

  • Update existing recipes and develop new ones to enhance the menu.

  • Perform other tasks as directed by management.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience managing a high-volume kitchen.

  • 2-3 years minimum working in a scratch made bakery.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.

  • Passion for innovation, quality, and efficiency in the kitchen.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
