Made From Scratch

Flavours and products inspired by our grandmothers recipes and refined over time.

Our ice cream is for real!

Really! We use simple ingredients that you can find in any kitchen pantry. We try to keep our ingredient lists minimal and use ingredients that you recognize. When we do need to use additional ingredients, we make sure they are as natural source as possible so that you can indulge without a care in the world!

Crafted with simple bases using 5 or fewer ingredients, our ice cream is cooked, chilled overnight, and aged for optimal texture. We make our own sauces and inclusions, with the exception of sprinkles.

Day 1

On day 1 we make our base using as few ingredients as possible. Our bases are simple; typically only 5 ingredients or less!

We cook all our bases to temperature to ensure all health protocols are followed and then we chill our base overnight, allowing the base to thicken and age. If necessary, we add in any tea leaves, coffee beans or other natural flavouring.

While we wait for the ice cream to age, we make any sauces or inclusions that need to go in the ice cream! With the exception of a few things (sprinkles for example), we make everything that goes into the ice cream!

Our small-batch ice cream machine can only make 4-5 L at a time, but it ensures optimal quality. We hand-label and package each pint and use a hardening cabinet to quickly plunge the temperature, resulting in a smooth scoop.

Day 2

The next day the base is ready to go into the ice cream machine. Our machine is small so we can only make 4-5 L of ice cream at a time! When we say small batch, we really do mean small batch!

The ice cream makers carefully measure out any inclusions and sauces to distribute through the freshly churned ice cream.

Each pint is labelled and packaged by hand!

After distributing the ice cream, it is placed in a hardening cabinet to quickly plunge the temperature of the ice cream as quick as possible to ensure a smooth scoop.

Our ice cream hardens overnight before being placed in a warmer freezer to soften, resulting in a perfect texture. If your ice cream is too hard, simply check your freezer temperature and warm it up for a few minutes.

Day 3

After hardening overnight, our team places the newly crafted ice cream into a second freezer that is much warmer to come to temperature. This allows the ice cream to soften otherwise it would be rock hard and impossible to scoop!

Pro tip: If your ice cream is too hard, check your freezer temperature. It may just need to warm up for a few minutes for that perfect texture!

After a few hours the ice cream is ready to eat and be enjoyed! It takes over 72 hours to get it to the point of consumption but is well worth it.
